ROCHESTER, N.Y. – We had a little taste of spring on our last Thursday of winter, with high temperatures reaching into the 50s with some sunshine across the area. The temperatures won’t change on Friday, but we’ll lose the sun.
Periods of rain will fall, with roughly a few tenths of an inch of rain on average. We’ll see a lull in the wet weather into the early afternoon hours. This will be our window to pop into the 50s for a second day in a row. But it won’t last.
A cold front knocking on our door will plow through around dinner-time, with gusty winds to follow, and temperatures dropping into the 30s and 20s by Saturday morning. Winds will gust up to 40 mph for a few hours as the colder air rushes in.
The weekend will have more of a winter feel, with highs back into the 30s, some lake snow showers and a brisk wind. That too, won’t last. We’ll climb back into the 40s with sunshine and dry weather for our first day of Spring on Monday.
We’re tracking the potential for another storm late next week. However at this point, it looks like we’ll remain on the warmer side of it, with mostly rain and perhaps a little wind.
