BROCKPORT, N.Y. — SUNY Brockport and St. John Fisher University came together for a lunch before the Courage Bowl, a football game that’s one of Camp Good Days’ largest fundraisers.

The lunch celebrated the upcoming 17th annual Courage Bowl between the two universities. Brockport will host the Courage Bowl on Saturday, which kicks off at 6 p.m.

Children at Camp Good Days will either be coaches or cheerleaders in the game. Camp Good Days seeks to improve the quality of life of children affected by cancer or sickle-cell anemia through recreational and support activities.

“When you’re talking about young kids and what we can do for them in a short period of time, help get their mind off what they’re going through, its a special event,” said Jason Mangone, the head football coach at SUNY Brockport

Tickets are $5 online and at the door. You can buy tickets here.

Camp Good Days was founded by St. John Fisher University’s football coach Gary Mervis, who lost his daughter to a brain tumor in 1982, when she was 9 years old. He founded the non-profit in memory of his daughter Teddi.
