GREECE, N.Y. – The Barnard Fire District purchased a brand-new CPR device aimed at helping save lives.

The “Stryker Lucas CPR Device” assists first responders by automatically administering continuous chest compressions. This allows first responders to provide additional life-saving measures.

The purchase of the device was made possible through the “Bands of Barnard Concert Series” and the district’s annual fund drive.

“The other great advantage we have in Monroe County is there’s over 1,000 automatic defibulator devices that are registered and available to the public. So, before the fire department arrives, these are the tools that people can use to make the difference,” Barnard Fire Chief Stephen Andrews said.

All four Greece fire districts will be holding CPR and AED training sessions at Greece Odyssey Academy. The session is on Saturday, February 11 at 9 a.m. Register here.
