Deaths of married Clarkson couple a murder-suicide, deputies say
CLARKSON, N.Y. – Monroe County Sheriff’s deputies told News10NBC they found a couple dead in a garage on Monday.
Right now, sheriff’s deputies are not releasing the names of the two people found dead. What we do know is they were a married couple in their early 50s.
The bodies were found Monday afternoon in the garage of a home located on Sweden Walker Road in Clarkson. Sheriff’s deputies were called to the home to conduct a welfare check after a concerned person called the police.
Captain Pat Rojas confirms a gun was used in this murder-suicide, and also tells us that there was no previous contact between the family and law enforcement. The investigation continues at the home which is still considered a crime scene.
“Right now, we’re piecing together the timeline of what has occurred there,” says Rojas. “So, we can at least let the family know. We have our victim’s assistance person. She is working with the family to help them with any resources they may need.”
Captain Rojas believes this is an isolated incident and says there’s no threat to the community.
