Police investigating hit-and-run after woman found on Lake Avenue died
ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Rochester Police say the woman who died at the hospital soon after officers found her injured in the middle of Lake Avenue near Lexington Avenue on Sunday night may have been the victim of a hit-and-run.
Police say the woman may have been struck by a vehicle traveling north on Lake Avenue, and that it’s possible the driver may have been unaware they hit a person.
RPD responded around 11 p.m. after getting the report of a person lying in the road. An off-duty EMT on the scene who found the woman tried to save her life. An ambulance took the woman in her 50s to Strong Memorial Hospital, where she died soon after arriving.
