ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Local leaders held a conference on Wednesday to remind people to get their flu shots and their COVID boosters.

Speakers included Mayor Malik Evans, Monroe County Executive Adam Bello, and County Health Commissioner Dr. Michael Mendoza.

The latest data shows more than 1,500 confirmed cases in the state. During the same week last year, there were only 195 new cases. Doctors say getting vaccinated is the best way to prevent the flu and if you do get it, stay home and rest up.
