Local veteran places wreath on Tomb of the Unknown Soldier after Honor Flight

ARLINGTON, V.A. — Saturday was a very special moment for a local veteran as part of Honor Flight Rochester’s 74th mission.
Vietnam veteran George Bennett of Nunda was able to place a wreath on the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia.

Bennett is not only a veteran but has been an active volunteer firefighter in Nunda for 51 years.
Honor Flight took Bennett along with 59 other veterans to the D.C. area over the weekend, free of charge, to see the memorials in their honor. The next mission is set for October 22.
