Man charged with robbery on city’s northeast side

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Police say on Sunday afternoon at 2:15, officers went to Family Dollar on Waring Road for reports of someone showing a gun. They say the suspect tried to convince the cashier to approve a fake transaction before pulling out what looked like a gun and running away. No one was hurt.
Officers later found the 53-year-old man hiding in a vacant home by Fieldwood Drive and Lyceum Street.
