More than 300 people walked and ran to raise money for MCC scholarships

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – More than 300 people walked and ran on Saturday to raise scholarship funds for Monroe Community College. The race was held at the Henrietta campus. Community members, students, and staff all participated. $5,000 in scholarships were awarded to MCC students.

“Some of our students have to make very difficult choices every day just even from basic needs. So, taking the resources that they do have, just to meet basic needs, like living or transportation. When students have access to scholarships, it makes it possible for them to be able to focus on their education, and raising the bar for them to be able to have rewarding careers, and better lives for them, their families, and their loved ones,” said Dr. Deanna Burt-Nanna, President Monroe Community College.
