Number of fatal overdoses dips slightly in Monroe County

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Nine people died in November from a drug overdose.

That is according to new numbers from the Monroe County Heroin Task Force, which releases monthly data on the opioid epidemic.

According to the report, 50 people survived a drug overdose last month. The majority of overdoses happened in the city.

This year, 559 people have overdosed, 119 of whom have died.

February was the deadliest month. Sixty-one people overdosed, 20 of whom died.
