PITTSFORD, N.Y. – An Olympic swimmer was in Pittsford on Saturday to provide some inspiration to some young swimmers. Olympic gold medalist, and world record holder, Ryan Murphy was at the Goldfish Swim School on Monroe Avenue. His appearance was part of a VIP pool party celebration. He shared some of his knowledge on water safety tips with the kids.

“My goal is not to come in here and mold the next Olympic swimmer. My goal is to come in here and try and tell kids to dream big in whatever their goals end up being, but learning to swim is an incredibly important skill to learn because drowning is the leading cause of death for kids under the age of five,” said Murphy.
