ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Rochester Police have made an arrest in a deadly stabbing that happened after an argument inside a car in front of a South Clinton Avenue apartment complex.

Mark Burdick, 54, of Clifton Springs, Ontario County, is charged with second-degree murder. He is accused of stabbing 53-year-old Myron Fair, who he knew, during the argument on Sunday night.

Officers arrived at the Pinnacle Place apartment complex around 8 p.m. and found Fair near the entrance with a stab wound to the chest. He was taken to Strong Hospital where he died.

Investigators soon determined that Fair was sitting in the passenger seat of a car at the entrance loop and was stabbed after an argument with the driver.

Officers spotted the suspect’s car and tried to pull it over around 7 on Monday night on Murray Street. According to RPD, that’s when the driver went in reverse on Murry Street and stopped after hitting a curb.

RPD says officers used a small amount of force while arresting Burdick. He was arraigned in Rochester City Court on Monday night and remanded without bail.

“Officers were safely able to take the suspect, Mark Burdick of Clifton Springs, into custody at the location. Further work by investigators identified him as the one who allegedly stabbed Mr. Fair, killing him,” said RPD Chief David Smith in a video.
