Two people stabbed in separate areas of city overnight

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Rochester Police are investigating after two people were stabbed in separate areas of the city overnight.

Officers responded to the first stabbing just after 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday. They found a 28-year-old man with upper-body stab wounds on Jefferson Avenue near Dr. Samuel McCree Way on the city’s southwest side. An ambulance took the man to Strong Hospital and he is expected to survive. RPD says its unclear where the actual stabbing occurred.

Hours later, just after 12:45 a.m. on Wednesday, officers also responded to stabbing on North Street near Draper Street on the city’s north side. That’s when officers learned that a private car took a 51-year-old man to Rochester General Hospital to treat an upper-body stab wound. RPD met with the victim in the hospital and he is expected to survive.

RPD is still investigating both stabbings and is asking anyone with information to call 911.
