UPDATE: Police identify man fatally shot at Ontario Beach Park

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Rochester Police Department has identified the man who was fatally shot at the parking lot of Ontario Beach Park, following an argument on Friday morning.
31-year-old Jerome Lindsey, of Rochester, was found the man dead at around 3:30 a.m. Friday. Our crew tells us it was an emotional scene. After the shooting, people who knew Lindsey arrived and were crying and screaming.
A police investigation determined that there were a couple of groups hanging around the beach parking lot and drinking. Lindsey, a member of one of the groups, was shot after an argument escalated. Police said most of the people who were at the parking lot during the shooting fled before police arrived
Friday’s shooting is the 53rd homicide of 2022, according to RPD’s Open Data Portal.
