UPDATE: The suspect, Doyle Rucker Jr., has been charged with attempted murder and assault. The 34-year-old victim remains in guarded condition at Strong Memorial Hospital.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – A 34-year-old Rochester woman was in critical condition in the intensive care unit as of around 9:40 p.m. Saturday after being stabbed on Mitchell Street in the afternoon. A girl under 18 was also stabbed and was in stable condition.

The stabbing took place at around 2:16 p.m. Saturday in a home on Mitchell Street, near Barberry Terrace, Rochester Police say. The woman who was stabbed underwent surgery.

A 34-year-old Rochester man was arrested, police said.
