Man hurt in shooting inside Avery Street home

ROCHESTER, N.Y. Rochester police confirmed a shooting in the city.

Police responded to Emerson and Avery streets just before 5:30 p.m. Thursday. They found a 32-year-old man shot in the lower body. He was taken to Strong Hospital but is expected to survive.

The victim told police the shooting happened inside his home on Avery Street. Police taped off the area while they looked for the suspect. So far no suspects are in custody.
