ROCHESTER, N.Y. Rochester’s fire chief is retiring next week.
Felipe Hernandez was named the first-ever Latino head of the department in 2021. He’s been with RFD for 23 years. Mayor Malik Evans says the search for the city’s next fire chief is underway.
Teresa Everett will serve as interim chief.
