RFD investigating cause of lithium ion battery fire
ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Rochester Fire Department is investigating what caused a lithium ion car battery fire on Tuesday.
RFD says it started in the front end of end of a tractor-trailer on West Avenue. Because of nature of lithium ion batteries, firefighters monitored the battery throughout the night to be sure the fire didn’t reignite.
Environmental crews are expected to properly dispose of the battery on Wednesday.
