UPDATE: RFD investigating second fire at Remington Street home

UPDATE, Oct. 16, 2022: RFD is investigating the second house fire in the past seven months at a Remington Street home.

442 Remington St. is the same location as a previous attic fire on March 27. Firefighters began battling the blaze around 4:30 a.m. Sunday. This time, the fire broke out in the basement and extended to the upper floors.

No one was found inside the home and no crew members were injured during the response. Crews extinguished the fire in under 45 minutes, and no neighboring properties were damaged.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The Rochester Fire Department responded to a fire that happened Sunday evening.

The structure was a vacant, single-family residence located at 442 Remington St.

Upon arrival, firefighters extinguished the flames within three minutes. There were no reported injuries to either firefighters or civilians.

The cause of the incident is unknown at this time. The Rochester Fire Investigation Unit is continuing its investigation.
