Police recover body at Durand Beach

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The investigation into a drowning in Lake Ontario Saturday afternoon continues.

After hours of searching by boat and helicopter, police recovered the body around 8 p.m.

The person disappeared in the waters off Durand Beach on Lakeshore Boulevard.

Members of the Rochester Police Department were aided by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office and New York State Police.

The identity of the drowning victim has not been released.
