ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Friday was all about celebrating Rochester’s teachers and everyone who who makes School 12 work.

Teachers and staff were treated to lunch at Anna Murray-Douglass Academy as thanks for their compassion and dedication to educating youth.

Teachers used to be treated to lunch three times a year on school half-days until the grant making that possible went away.

When he found out, Jarrett Felton, managing director of Invessent Wealth Management and the son of a late Rochester City School District teacher, decided to fund it himself.

“Who’s really making it happen? Who are the feet on the street? I feel like the teachers are really making that direct impact and connection on the community as well as the students who hopefully will grow up and be great members of our society and want to contribute and give back,” he said.

“Our teachers deserve the very best because I truly believe that our teachers feed our kids, so we have to treat our teachers well,” Principal Katie Trepanier said.

Felton has already committed to funding the next lunch, too.
