ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Rochester Police say an investigation into gunfire hitting a home Friday morning on the city’s northwest side led them to Costar Street. No suspects are in custody yet.

RPD responded to Parkway off Costar Street just after 3:30 a.m. after getting a report of a person and dog shot. After arriving, officers learned that no one was shot but there was an argument amongst a group.

Officers also learned that bullets went through a home in the area but no one was hit. RPD says it’s unclear who was inside the home at the time.

During the investigation into the gunfire, officers surrounded a house around Costar Street and Saratoga Avenue. Officers believed the suspect may have been inside but they couldn’t confirm it, so police withdrew.

RPD says they’re following up on leads and are asking anyone with information to call 911.
