RPD says they recovered stolen car and illegal gun from teenager
ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Rochester Police officers say they recovered a stolen car and a loaded, illegal gun from a 17-year-old on Tuesday morning.
RPD says the teenager was blocking the intersection of Jay Street and Broad Street with a car that he was sleeping in around 3 a.m. Officers say that, as the teen was speaking to them, they noticed the outline of a handgun in his jacket pocket.
The teenager was detained and is facing weapons charges along with possessing stolen property. RPD says the car, a 2013 Hyundai Elantra, was stolen on November 6. The teen will be arraigned on Tuesday morning in Monroe County Family Court.
