RIT student killed in motorcycle crash on Scottsville Road

CHILI, N.Y. – A Rochester Institute of Technology student has died from his injuries after a motorcycle crash Tuesday night.

Ethan Sulik-Doty, 22, of Whiting, Vt. was involved in a crash at Airpark Drive and Scottsville Road around 6:15 p.m. Tuesday. He was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital, where he died.

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office says witnesses told them the motorcycle was speeding when it hit the passenger side of the van as it turned onto Airpark Drive from Scottsville Road.

In a message to the college community, RIT’s senior vice president for student affairs, Dr. Sandra Johnson, said Sulik-Doty was working towards his master’s degree in electrical engineering.

“We have reached out to Ethan’s family to extend our sincere condolences on behalf of the RIT community. Our hearts go out to his family, friends, and loved ones as they cope with their tremendous heartbreak and grief,” the statement reads.

Sulik-Doty started at RIT in 2019.
