ROCHESTER, N.Y. — There’s one less place to get coffee in Rochester this weekend: SPoT Coffee on East Avenue is temporarily closed.

A sign on the front door, posted by the Monroe County Health Department, says the shop was ordered to be closed temporarily.

According to the state Department of Health’s website, a health inspector found more than a dozen violations at the restaurant Friday.

According to the Department of Health data, the inspector found vermin. The inspector also discovered at least some of the restaurant’s food came from “unapproved sources.” The data also says Spot didn’t do enough to make sure food didn’t get contaminated.

The inspector found 14 violations in all.

In a statement, SPoT Coffee said:

“We are cooperating fully with the Monroe County Department of Public Health and are committed to following their guidance and recommendations.

“Pest control services have continued to be engaged, and thorough cleaning and sanitation procedures have and are being implemented.”
