UPDATE: Spot Coffee offers statement on reopening on East Avenue

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — They wiped the slate clean at Spot Coffee — which has opened back up after a county health order shut them down.

Customers returned to the East Avenue coffee house Friday.

Spot was closed for six days after the Monroe County Health Department found a critical health violation — mouse droppings in the flour and around the kitchen.

In a social media post, spot expressed its gratitude to customers while it worked through the issue.

Peter Kervin, district operations manager, gave the following statement:

“SPoT Coffee Rochester is open effective as of 2/16/24.

“Through close collaboration and cooperation with Monroe County Health officials, We have implemented comprehensive measures to ensure the safety and well-being of our customers and staff. SPoT is committed to upholding the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene, and we are grateful for the support of our loyal patrons as we navigated through our recent challenges. As we reopen, safety and satisfaction remain our top priorities, and we look forward to serving everyone.”
