State Police arrest Rochester man for sexual abuse of a child and weapons charges

WILLIAMSON, N.Y. (WHEC) — The New York State Police in Williamson report the arrest of a Monroe County man after a lengthy investigation into the reported sexual abuse of a child.

State police say Michael Rivera-Perez, 37, had sexual contact with a five-year-old in Sodus, Wayne County.

During the investigation, troopers found an assault rifle and high capacity magazine.

Rivera-Perez was arrested on Sept. 12, and charged with sexual abuse in the first degree, two counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, and endangering the welfare of a child.

Rivera-Perez was transported to Wayne County Jail to await centralized arraignment and was released on $500 cash bail.
