Teen arrested after state trooper crashes in Williamson during chase with stolen car

WILLIAMSON, N.Y. — A 15-year-old is accused of riding a stolen car that led New York State Police on a chase in Williamson that ended in a crash on Wednesday night.

The trooper collided with a car that wasn’t involved in the chase on Tuckahoe Road near State Route 104. The trooper and the other driver were injured and taken to Strong Hospital. Both are expected to be ok.

State Police say the chase started around 11:45 p.m. on Tuckahoe Road and troopers caught the stolen car on Ridge Road after the crash.

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office took the teenage passenger of that car into custody but say the driver and another passenger ran away.

The teen from Newark was arrested for Obstruction of Governmental Administration and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property. He was released to a legal guardian and will face charges at a later time.
