CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. — Sen. Chuck Schumer and Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand announced that they secured $250 million for community projects in Rochester and other areas of the Finger Lakes.
The two senators spoke at the Canandaigua Veterans Affairs Medical Center on Wednesday afternoon. The funding includes more than $60 million to build a state-of-the-art care facility for veterans in Canandaigua. It will include an outpatient clinic and a new community living center.
Staff at the facility say they also plan to open a new facility to provide care for homeless veterans and treatment for drug addiction.
