ROCHESTER, N.Y. – After a fairly cool start to the work week with highs in the 50s, we’ll warm things up nicely on Tuesday and Wednesday. In fact, Tuesday should be a spectacular day, with highs near 70 and an abundance of sunshine. Wednesday should also be mild, with highs in the upper 60s, but we’ll see more clouds and an increasing chance for a shower or two by later in the afternoon or evening. This is ahead of our next cold front, which will arrive on Thursday morning. Thursday will be mild to start, but temperatures will slowly fall through the day. Showers will be likely from the get go, with perhaps a rumble of thunder as our cold front swings through. This will set the stage for a cooler end to the work week, with highs once again back into the 50s.

The upcoming weekend should be decent for mid October, with seasonable highs in the lower 60s, and mainly dry weather. But, we’ll be waiting on our next cold front, which is set to arrive early next week, with another punch of chillier air. In fact, it  may be cool enough to start talking about our first flakes of the season by Tuesday or Wednesday. Nothing that accumulates at this point, and mainly in the higher terrain south of Rochester.
