ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The eleventh annual walk against domestic violence was held on Saturday. Dozens of people showed up to The Church of Love on Exchange Street to show their support. Organizers say the rates of domestic violence in Rochester are 250% higher than the rest of the state.

“We are going to make awareness about this terrible crime. It happens every day here in the city of Rochester. A couple of weeks ago, about a month ago, a young lady was killed by her husband and we need to speak up about it. We need to speak up about this and the most important things is we’re bringing God into it,” said Lucila Matos, Founder Walk Against Domestic Violence.
