CLYDE, N.Y. (WHEC) — It's been a full week now since the body of Raphael Martinez was found in the Seneca River. As we've reported, his wife Linda Martinez was arrested, and charged in connection with his death. Now two men are also facing charges.

News10NBC sat down Wednesday afternoon with son Paul Martinez as the family prepares for a funeral this weekend.

Martinez talked about his father who he says was well-liked in the community. He also talked about the first few days after their father went missing and their frantic search for him.

The last few days have been extremely tough on members of Raphael Martinez's family especially for his 11 children as they continue to plan for his upcoming funeral. His son, Paul Martinez, says his father was a pretty good guy.

"Everyone around Wayne County knew my father, and when he came up missing we went to go hand out flyers, I went to go hand them out to at least 100 people, and they all told me I know your father so I didn't need the flyer," Martinez said.

Their father was first reported missing on Oct. 25.

"We thought he was missing nine hours after my sister dropped him off, and we knew he was missing because he would never go anywhere without his cigarettes, hat," said Martinez. He continued, "He had his shoes at home and stuff."

Martinez's body was found three days later after a state police underwater recovery team pulled his body out of the Seneca River in Cayuga County. Police also arrested his wife, 53-year-old Linda Martinez that same day. Some family members took part in the search and were in the vicinity where Martinez was found in the river.

"Like I wanted to find my father, just so we could get answers or something, but I didn't want to give up on him, and he was dead," said Martinez.

Linda Martinez was taken to the Wayne County Jail, and has since been charged with second degree murder. Martinez says she didn't have much of a relationship with any of her husband's children. In fact, he describes her as being a jealous person.

"We knew he was missing, and we knew she had something to do with it, because the whole community loved him, and the whole family knew she had something to do with it," Martinez said. He finished by saying, "Like she wanted my dad to herself, and like no one around."

Late Wednesday afternoon News10NBC received word from state police that two accomplices have been arrested in this case. They're identified as 27-year old Brandon Williams, and 54-year old Mark Shannon. In addition to Linda Martinez, all three have been indicted on numerous charges.
