SODUS, N.Y. (WHEC) — The man convicted in the death of his girlfriend and her 14-month-old son was sentenced to 30 months in prison for federal immigration charges.

Alberto Reyes, 29, of Mexico was convicted of possession of a counterfeit social security card and alien registration card and illegal reentry after deportation.

He was previously sentenced to 20 years in prison for first-degree manslaughter in the death of Selena Hidalgo-Calderon and her son in 2018.

Prosecutors say he will serve his federal sentence after his state sentence is complete.
