Newark Police Chief to retire at end of year

NEWARK, N.Y. (WHEC) — Newark Police Chief Mark Thoms will retire at the end of the year.
Chief Thoms has served the village for 37 years, working his way through the ranks until he became chief.
The mayor said Newark will miss his positive interactions with his officers and the village.
Newark is now searching for a new chief.
