Pedestrian struck in Lyons

LYONS, N.Y. (WHEC) — A man is being treated for leg and head injuries after being struck by a car while walking on the shoulder of a road, authorities said.

According to the Wayne County Office of the Sheriff, Tyler Parsons of Palmyra, 18, was walking westbound on the north shoulder of Route 31 when he was struck by a car. The driver was traveling westbound.

Parsons was semiconscious and flown to Strong Memorial Hospital via Mercy Flight.

Authorities say he was wearing dark clothes. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
