MACEDON, N.Y. (WHEC)— As it turns out, Alicia will not have the keys after all.
News10NBC has learned Grammy Award-winning singer Alicia Keys, and music producer Swizz Beatz's plan for turning a Wayne County property into a potential music campus has fallen through.
The duo's lawyer told News10NBC's Brennan Somers "they have decided not to do the project."
As we first told you in 2019, Keys, and her husband - Beatz, whose real name is Kasseem Dean, wanted to turn the old Exxon Mobil research plant on Route 31 in Macedon into a music and arts center.
The two wanted to transform the building by adding a gym and training facility for musicians and artists as well as a gallery for their collection of photography and art.
Town Engineer told me yesterday: There have been no further inquiries or submittals from the Deans relative to the Jindal property since their initial appearance before the Town Board on August 8, 2019.— Brennan Somers (@WHEC_BSomers) July 30, 2021
The project was presented to Macedon's Town Board on Aug. 8, 2019.
An engineer told Somers there have been no further inquiries or submittals on the project since their initial appearance before the board.
