Gates Police investing armed robbery during sale

GATES, N.Y. (WHEC) — The Gates Police Department is investigating a Christmas Eve armed robbery.

Police say the victim had agreed to sell the suspect their PlayStation over the internet.

They agreed to meet in a parking lot, where police say the suspect flashed a handgun and robbed the victim.

Gates Police suggest using caution when meeting people for sales and using an area police department’s safe transaction zone to meet.

The Brockport Police Department just created one last month, and law enforcement agencies in Webster, Seneca Falls, Irondequoit and Geneseo have them as well.
