ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Now to a good question follow up, and it’s about New York State’s COVID travel rules.

We’re still getting a lot of messages asking if the quarantine after a trip rule applies to people who have been fully vaccinated with both shots of the vaccine.

For now, that answer remains yes, as there have been no official changes to the policy, but state officials are looking at it.

There’s been more confusion over this in recent weeks after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention updated guidance saying fully vaccinated people with a close contact exposure don’t have to quarantine within 90 days after their second shot.
