Good Question: What’s happening with live venues?

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC)— Here’s a Good Question about seeing live shows once again.

A viewer sent us a message this week asking: Why are comedy clubs across the state not allowed to open?

They are lumped in with the same rules as the arts, theatres, and other entertainment venues, you just probably didn’t hear a lot of talk specifically about smaller comedy clubs…

But, they are getting closer to reopening– three weeks from Friday to be exact.

On April 2, those live show venues can get back to hosting events. They can reopen at a third capacity, up to 100 people indoors and 200 outdoors.

If they put in COVID testing requirements for customers to get in–those limits can increase to 150 inside and 500 outside.

Of course, there will also be social distancing when it comes to seating, and you’ll have to wear a mask.
