ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Law enforcement and Rochester’s faith community are teaming up once again.
Thursday afternoon, they announced a list of events happening this weekend around the city. It follows Rochester’s 65th homicide and the recent wounding of a three-year-old during a shootout.
More of our coverage:
- Ongoing efforts to stop the violence in Rochester (Oct 5)
- City officials speak about fixing disinvestments in North Clinton Ave. to prevent violence (Sept 30)
- Rochester’s 14605 zip code is the poorest in the city, and second poorest in the entire state (Sept 30)
- Three-year-old boy is recovering from life-saving surgery after being shot (Sept 29)
- ‘I’m moving because I feel scared’: Violence pushing some to leave city’s North Side (Sept 29)
Law enforcement and faith leaders want to join forces to build bridges. So they announced events that coincide with national faith and blue weekend.
There’s a baseball game between kids and law enforcement on Saturday, a faith and blue gathering of prayer on Sunday, and a community forum on Monday. We’re working to get the full list of events up in this story.
