ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Police arrested a 17-year-old for a fatal shooting on June 11 that happened outside of bars on the city’s East End.

Anthony Grimes was charged for the murder of 24-year-old Yasier Clark at the corner of East Avenue and Lawrence Street. Rochester police said that Grimes and Clark got into an argument, then parted ways. Later into the night, Grimes shot Clark in the upper body as he was exiting a car, according to RPD. Clark died at the scene.

Police in Auburn, Cayuga County stopped Grimes on Tuesday afternoon while he was riding a bicycle and officers said Grimes gave them a false name. Auburn Police worked with RPD to determine that the person who they stopped was wanted for the fatal shooting in Rochester. Grimes was taken to a Rochester Juvenile facility and he faces second-degree murder and weapons charges.

Grimes was also arrested in April for having a loaded handgun after officers investigated shots fired on Thomas Street. Two others were arrested during that investigation.
