Police arrest suspect in off-duty officer hit-and-run investigation

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office announces that an arrest has been made in the hit-and-run investigation that occurred in Penfield on Thursday night.

Brendon Burns is arrested and charged with assault in the 2nd degree and leaving the scene of an accident with personal injury.

The hit-and-run happened just after 9 p.m. Thursday at the corner of Five Mile Line Road and Route 441.

He has since been arraigned and remanded to Monroe County jail on $30,000 bond.

The 31-year-old admitted to the crime when being interviewed by law enforcement officials.
