PITTSFORD, N.Y. — A community prayer service for the safe return of Ken DeLand is being held at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Clifton Springs United Methodist Church, 1 East Main St., Clifton Springs.

This comes after pleas for help from the family of the St. John Fisher University student, who is missing in Europe. Ken Deland’s family has been posting on the website findkendeland.com. He’s been missing since Nov. 27. They say they last heard from him as he boarded a train headed for the city of Valence in France.

His phone last pinged on Nov. 30 and authorities say his bank tracked a purchase in the town of Montelimar on Dec. 3. His family says they fear the worst: Deland’s international studies are done on Dec. 17 and his visa expires in January.

Anyone with information has been asked to call Fisher’s Office of Safety and Security at (585) 385-8025.
